‘Because it is what every other person looking and listening to the news hears and sees. That’s why. Good grief.’

Apparently the Internet revolution passed you by. Fewer and fewer people get their information from newspapers, and only a fraction of that small number rely on the NYT. Only ~30% of people in general give even some credibility to the legacy media. Were it otherwise, Trump would have lost.

Oh brother. I guess common sense passed you by. 30 million viewers get their news from NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS on a daily basis. Millions more get their news from their radio affiliates and in addition the TV network news is highly influenced by what is in the NYT and the Wash Post.

If the papers and network news were no longer influential, then why in the hell is the Trump/Russian corruption scandal been in the news for months? If the Internet revolution is so mighty, then why has this story led the news on multiple days and why is everyone at work talking about it and why are people saying Trump needs to be investigated.

The mainstream news media is still more influential than the internet is and will be as long as millions listen to the network news and their echo chambers.

If the main newspapers, network news and the rest of the mainstream media is so weakened by the internet revolution, then why did Sessions recuse himself. Why was Obama able to get away with the things he did. It was because the mainstream media covered up for him.

I am well aware there are multiple ways to get news, but the mainstream media is still the most influential and will be for a long time.
