The tweet was assinine and dispicable. But it bugs me that he lost his job over it. It would be completly approriate to fire him if he had said that on behalf of the orginaztion he worked for, but unless his twitter account is widely aasociated with the comapnies brand seems wrong to fire him. Let the market place of ideas be a free market.

#29 AndytheBear: companies/organizations, etc. have clauses in their contracts about one of their employees bringing disrepute or dishonor to the company’s name, etc. A woman teacher at a school just got let go because of something she wrote in an email message (It was an inappropriate comment, my hyperbole than anything else), but the school couldn’t take a chance on liberals vengeance against it.
Personally unless someone writes something so agreedious (spelling is off, I know) that it personally threatened someone, I would say that Free Speech rules. However, there are exceptions and today no one seems in the mood to show any mercy, esp. against conservatives.
Glad to see that a professional organization has some standards whether I agree with them or not.
