It was very nice to get out of NYC for a while and get a pulse from the rest of America. On the way down and back we stayed in places like Savannah, GA and Richmond, VA and people seem pretty upbeat and positive about the new Administration. Yes, it comes up in conversation too, which I was surprised about because in NYC and CT, the election never comes up as everybody is on eggshells about it. At the Waffle Houses and the Texas Roadhouse restaurant we went to, people were talking Trump. I was at the Moon River Brewery in Savannah Sunday afternoon and the bartender there had the Daytona 500 on one TV and FoxNews on the other. When he found out I was from NYC he asked me what the hell were wrong with the people up there (for wanting Hillary). I then showed him photos of Trump Tower that I took on Election Day.
It's nice to get away from the Northeast every now and then.
We live in the Blue Belly of the Beast, West Coast. This weekend we rented in a lovely area a couple of hours south. The owners were so relieved that we were normal, they could not do enough for us once they found out we were Trumpsters. They face a similar problem and were so happy to see normal folk for a change.
