Without going into a detailed analysis of what happened in the past 10 centuries in the Middle East, this is a pretty good simple argument for the US supporting the Kurds in Syria.

Simple works. Yes, the devil is often in the details. But sometimes details cause inaction and failure.

We already are supporting the Syrian Kurds.

You know, many Kurds are muslims.
Some are Shia and some are Sunni and they have allegiances to their sects as well as their various and sundry tribes.

Most of the killing during the Armenian Genocide was done by the Kurds so as a Christian I don’t feel I owe them any help.
