That was close.
I thought they were talking about Tommy’s Burgers.
If you dont see the shack - take it back”
I mean it isn't limited to "evangelicals."
Agreed - see my post 38. God as portrayed in the old “The Ten Commandments” was very Holy iirc. I’m guessing that movie has been seen by more people than all of the others combined.
Remember George Burns as God with John Denver? I think he had a similar message as most modern films with God. He also said Jesus was his son, and so was Buddha, Mohammed, etc. While some of these movies might have a cute and okay message (”be nice to others”) - I’m sure too many people take them as good theology.
A significant faction of self described “evangelicalism” is a manifestation of what St. Paul warned when he wrote of the times when people “will not endure sound doctrine but having itching ears will find teachers of their liking”.
They are fad driven: Prayer of Jabez followed by Purpose Driven Life followed by The Shack.
Follow the Gourd! Follow the shoe!
When you are rootless you will follow (and fall for) anything.
It’s a nothingburger for me - I just get my rebel up when people set themselves up to look down on others.
CBN was linking to a site for ticket sales of the movie. I haven’t checked on all of the others. Your statements were right on. Studying Judges in my Sunday School class . . .I think we as a nation are overdue for repentance. We have been given over to a reprobate mindset. Also the churches seem to be going along to get along.
Has the book been translated into Italian yet?
This sounds like something The Pope would greatly appreciate!
I knew way too many people in Christian circles who read this book. I just looked at them and asked, “Really?” When I would find out.
It is pure horse crap.
It appears that many Christians disagree with your sentiment; please count me among them.
