Here is an Arabic news source that is stating the US has committed our soldiers to prevent attack by Turks or their surrogate Arab Militias on Manbij and another town. Those towns were shelled by Turkey last night.

The SDF soldiers and leaders are absolutely elated that the US kept their promise so they can stay committed to ending ISIS in Raqqa.

I hate the need for our solders being brought in, but it is something we committed to do to allow Raqqa to be captured. If we had not committed to keeping Turkey from assaulting these towns, the SDF would have relocated their soldiers to protect their towns. One of the towns Turkey shelled last night has several hundred thousands of internally displaced people being sheltered from the war.

There is no need for us to commit troops. No more American blood for the Middle East.

What do we owe Turkey? Seriously? People are always talking two state solution? How about carving out a state from Syria, Turkey and Iraq for the Kurdish state. If anyone deserves a state, it’s the Kurds.

Turkey should be divided between the Armenians and the Kurds and they can do whatever they want with the Turks.

We owe Turkey nothing. They are currently a member of NATO.

And yes, the Kurds should have their own country. Contrary to what Erdogan says about them, they are not terrorists. The ones I know are good people and have my respect and trust.

"They are currently a member of NATO."

Boy was that a mistake. Just to have a place to put our missiles. During the cold war, they were a good allay. Now, not so much. For a while, I was worried, they were going to drag us into a war with Russia all by themselves. Since post 9/11, they have done little to nothing to help us stabilize the middle East. I'm sure that the new Kurdish country would be happy to sponsor an Airbase, we can shut Incirlick down.
