The United States called on Russia Sunday to "immediately" observe the ceasefire in Ukraine, accusing combined Russian and separatist forces of targeting international monitors.

"We call on Russia and the separatist forces it backs to immediately observe the ceasefire, withdraw all heavy weapons, and allow full and unfettered access to the OSCE monitors," the State Department said.

State Department spokesman Mark Toner said the United States was closely monitoring growing violence in eastern Ukraine and the failure of the combined Russian and separatist forces to abide by a ceasefire agreed to two years ago in Minsk.

Does this mean the Russians don’t own President Trump?

Even worse, it means no one walks all over President Trump.
He’s got the Reagan gene in there. None shall pass.

Hopefully, it means there is a strategy to resolve the situation, and this is pressure to drive negotiations to a settlement, or even a Kabuki-like (i.e. diplomatic) announcement of the next step, already agreed upon (although it could just be a reaction to some European leader asking for such a statement).

The sanctions on Russia are because of their (covert) invasion of the Ukraine. They have to settle that conflict to justify sanctions relief.

Maybe they could agree to buy the parts of the Ukraine that they want with oil and gas supplies, because the Ukraine is about bankrupt. Perhaps they will agree to a new internationally monitored referendum in the Crimea, on which country they will join. Whatever the deal would be, hopefully they we are cranking up the speed of negotiations to get one done, and put a swift end to this wasteful killing and destruction, so that people can get on with their lives over there.

Let’s not forget that Soros played a big role in destabilizing that situation, which makes it hard to paint it strictly black and white.

OSCE? That’s the bunch Governor Abbot threw out of Texas in the election, saying they would be arrested if they went on with their pro-Hillary election monitoring.

A European group cannot be objective monitors. The EU created the war in Ukraine.

Why is this our problem? Europe is committing suicide by Islam. They have been sponging off the US for years and have spent little for their own defense, and now they don’t even seem to care. Let them fend for themselves.

Agreed. Let Putin have Europe except the wonderful Brexit UK.

The demographics in the EU are such that the EU WILL be majority Muzzie in a few decades. So what’s the point in spending another red cent defending the place.

Putin would do better than the Euros in controlling the Muzzie infiltration.

Right. Go get ‘em, tiger. You’re always there for Putin. How many Russians are displaced in Russia by Putin’s undeclared war on Ukraine, bozo? How many Ukrainians have died in Russia from the fighting? None. How many Russian soldiers have died in Ukraine? Over a thousand, but it’s Top Secret now. You’re an apologist for a tyrant.

Rewarding aggression and isolationism worked in the 1930’s, why not now?

If Putin guaranteed he’d kick out all Muslims from Western Europe I’d let him have it. Better to let him have it than the moon cult. Too bad eastern Europe is between Russia and the West. eastern Europe hasn’t lost it’s collective mind yet but stands in the way of Russian western expansion.

The Ukraine government forces were also warned to observe the ‘ceasefire’ but the headlines didn’t mention that.

Putin isn’t against crazy Muslims. He partners with them. Among the nut jobs he likes is Ramzan Kadyrov in Chechnya and the mad mullahs of Iran. He is keen to partner with any Muslims working against the USA too, like the Taliban. Check in to it if you don’t believe me. He’s as two-faced a man as ever has become a gangster statesman. His goals are self-preservation; the restoration of Soviet/Russian empire; the break up of NATO; and the humbling of the USA. To accomplish this he’s developed the best full spectrum MISO since the end of WWII. He has Americans cheering him on and hating those who expose him. His propaganda and fake news success is the envy of every liberal.

Replacing Sunni Islamization with Soviet Communism is such a wonderful thing isn’t it??? Sounds like the choice between Stalin and Hitler.

I have extreme doubts that in Ukraine, just one side:
* is the problem
* shells/rockets the other, especially civilian areas
* hides men and equipment among civilians

Listening to the mantras of MSM, will rot the human brain.
Listening to USGov statements without other sources, will rot the human brain.

And you don’t convince anyone that only one side is blameless in this
Kiev is as guilty of violating the Minsk Agreement as the separatists in Donbass
No one who really wants to stop the killing calls out only Russia as being responsible for the ceasefire violations

You and McCain need to seek therapy for your Putin anger
Maybe in a hot tub together
Invite linseed graham too

It was Gov Palin who first predicted that Russia would invade Ukraine

There was nothing covert about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Obama & Merkel had plenty of intel showing Russians Army units moving across the border and just chose to ignore it.
