PHOENIX - After releasing at least 58 undocumented inmates over the last week, Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone reversed course Friday night and allowed federal immigration authorities to pick up inmates inside his jails.
The undocumented inmates were being held on charges ranging from assault to extreme DUI. Many are immediately deportable under new priorities set by President Donald Trump.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said five of the released inmates had been arrested. Even Penzone conceded the released inmates could be a danger to the community.
"That does not make me feel good," the sheriff said in an interview Friday.

It is time for residents in areas like this, to let rectums like Penzone know that if their family members are maimed, hurt or killed by these released criminals, Penzone and his ilk will be held responsible. No lawyers, just citizens handling the wrongs.
WTH is “extreme DUI”?
Penzone and his ilk won’t be held responsible. But taxpayers will take it in the shorts. Maybe they’ve figured that out.

Penzone said he had to act quickly because Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery had provided legal advice that detaining the inmates was unconstitutional.
But why the change now hold them again? The article doesn’t get close to that?

Many in Phx remember what it was like before Sheriff Joe came to town.
My bet is the city’s chamber of commerce, bean counters, lawyers, and/or insurers had a word with Penzone.

Wikipedia—After retiring from the police force, Penzone joined the non-profit group Childhelp as vice president. The group focuses on preventing child abuse and neglect.
Soros $2 million bought a lot of influence against Sheriff Joe. And then there was the indictment against Joe, announced the day before early voting began. Strange silence on that indictment since Penzone won.
