Muslim Trump voter expresses her fears about Democratic Party’s future

In an interview on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Muslim author Asra Nomani explained why she thinks the future of the Democratic Party could have a major influence in her community and beyond.

She said her existing concerns about the party’s direction was an influence in her choice on Election Day.

“As a Muslim and as an immigrant, please don’t kick me off stage,” she said to the primarily liberal panel and audience. “I did vote for Trump.”

Nomani went on to explain her reasoning, pointing to her agreement with host Bill Maher’s post-election breakdown.

I absolutely agree that the DNC should continue its transformation into the Muslim National Committee, or MNC, as Obama basically championed.
