The leader of the poll-topping Dutch Freedom Party (PVV), Geert Wilders, has announced the suspension of his campaign with less than three weeks to go before his nation’s general election after the discovery of a possible mole in his security detail.
A Moroccan-origin Dutch police officer working on Mr Wilder’s security detail was arrested Monday and subsequently released on bail for allegedly leaking police information about his assignment. Claims in the Dutch media stated the officer had passed information to a Dutch-Moroccan criminal organisation.
Subsequent revelations reported by Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad allege arrested officer Faris K. had been under suspicion in the past for security violations and that his brother Mohammed K. had been fired from Dutch police in 2007 for leaking police information, and had also been investigated for rape.

If the mole was caught, why end the campaign?
He’s not ending it he’s suspending election campaigning, I assume until he gets to the bottom of problems within his security detail, who hired him, assessment as to the extent of any potential threat to his safety.

The Dutch and international media can ignore a single muzzie threat, but they cannot ignore a leading candidate who’s forced to suspend his campaign.
This is actually a brilliant move on his part, because it highlights the fact that the current government, who appointed his security detail, put a bodyguard in place who had every reason to want Wilders dead. That cannot POSSIBLY have been an accident, and the more strongly Wilders emphasizes that point, the better.
At the moment, there is essentially NO ONE on his detail that Wilders can trust. Since he doesn't want to end up like Theo Van Gogh or Pim Fortuyn, he needs to get a private security detail together and very quickly.
It wasn’t a secret to the Dutch government, who appointed the detail. His history was known.
Suspended, ok but the election is in THREE weeks and this is a crucial time.
Physical appearances are important but the lack of them isn’t quite the death knell it was even a few years ago, these guys are modeling their efforts after Trump. He’s not going away, will probably double down on social media in the interim.
You suspend the campaign because you have no idea exactly what details were given to the jihadi mafia types regarding security at upcoming campaign events or how far in advance. & I want to know who was the idiot/traitor to the country who put the dirty cop on that particular detail.

The Geert Wilders Party for Freedom came out of a movement called “Pym Fortuyn’s List”. Pym Fortuyn was a gay college professor who first began to warn the Dutch about the threat from immigration.
Fortuyn was assassinated.
Think of Indira Gandhi and her security detail just after ordering the attack on the Golden Temple at Amritsar.
