I suspect the Milo invitation was a set-up. At a minimum, it was used to get maximum publicity for the attempt to bring down Milo.

The idea that he was given the keynote spot as a way to set-up the takedown seems credible.

I think that’s exactly right. If CPAC could bring down Trump himself, they would.
