Florida Gov. Rick Scott is now saying that his fellow Republicans in the Florida House are using "fake news" to justify their plan to scrap the state's economic development agency.
Scott used his campaign Twitter account on Wednesday to distribute a video critical of House Speaker Richard Corcoran and House Republicans. The video labels Corcoran a "career politician" who wasted money by having the House produce a video that trashed programs championed by Scott.

Gov Scott has been a good governor...and this schmuck politician wants to punish him by cutting back money spent to advertize Florida as a vacation spot...Tourism is Florida’s biggest money maker.
Here is what this BS “Fake News” is— It is LIES!! Call it LIES!!! LIES. Fake news is bull crap.
The bold above is a fact known to anyone/everyone walking the planet. Why the need to advertise it?
And the state government (tax payers), not Disney et al, NEED to promote the tourist attractions in Florida because??? Because no one in the world would otherwise know they are there? Because no one in the world would go there? Because the owners of the tourist industry businesses are in dire financial need of taxpayer special support?? No.
Some Florida politicians rely on political contributions from the Florida tourist industry and feel the need to RETURN some of their contributions, using the taxpayers money.
The advertizing was a part of it ...there are also delgations that work on bringing more stuff to the state...Heck people know FORDS exist but they keep advertizing...It looks to me like its a power thing between the Governor and speaker of the Florida House...
Scott has made it a keystone of his tenure to bring more business to Florida which is a fairly easy sell because of Tax advantages
Economic development authorities set up by States as they created in Michigan Cost millions, provide tax cuts or incentives to draw business to a State that undercuts the current businesses. It also creates a drain on local services without generating any tax to pay for it
It creates very few jobs at a tremendous cost. It has been a failure in Michigan compared to what the private sector does on its own.
