We would have been better off if we had just invaded Mexico instead of Iraq in 2001.
Mexico poses a much greater threat to American security and prosperity than Iraq ever did.
IMO, we should have absorbed Mexico in 1848. Had we done so, the place would be as prosperous as Texas is today and the only illegal immigration we'd have is from those south of THAT border, clamoring to get in. Those people just can't seem to run a country right - Spanish attitude, I guess.
(Yeah, I know it is jingoistic, but that's the way I read the history of that area.)
