pernicious phenomenon
Remind us again, who was the victim?
The Daily Caller reports:
Ohio State Lectured On Islamophobia Three Months After Terror Attack
After being subject to a terrorist attack by a Somali refugee student less than three months ago, Ohio State University (OSU) is hosting a lecture Monday night on the dangers of Islamophobia.
The College Fix reports that the universitys Middle East Studies Center and Multicultural Center are jointly hosting a visit by author Nathan Lean, who will tell students about the pernicious phenomenon of Islamophobia that has reached a fevered pitch in American society.
Leans visit to the campus comes about three months after Somali refugee and Ohio State student Abdul Artan drove his car into a crowd of students and starting stabbing people before an OSU police officer shot him dead. Artan had identified himself as an al-Qaida supporter.
The author is in town to discuss his book The Islamophobia Industry: How the Right Manufactures Fear of Muslims. Leans website is replete with positive reviews of his work: Nathan Lean sees the values of cultural and religious pluralism as vital to the democratic life of any society, claims the Middle East Policy Council. While The Muscat Daily notes that Nathans writing on Islamophobia will shape our understanding of this subject for a long time to come.
“Islamophobia” is such a totally b.s. word.
There is nothing “phobic” or irrational about objecting to a movement which motivates millions of ppl to kill or wish to kill innocent people in the name of that religion.
It would be more interesting to discuss the terms and psychological disorders of ppl who are incapable of recognizing such evil for what it is.
Agreed. Islamophobia won’t get you killed, but radical Islam will. Yet the left insists you embrace the latter.
Is this a joke?
The dangers of Islam are manifest for anyone without blinders.
How many FReepers think that alumni donations will sink like a stone when they hear about this? I know I cancelled my own upon hearing it.

Islamophobiaphobes lecturing the honky snowflakes.
There are two parts to the madness...
one, the inswing of banging head on the wall, and this, which is the second part, is the outswing of the head away from the wall, positioning it for the next inswing.
Ohio State has been going downhill. Red flags appeared when they gave a pass to the athletic director in the football scandals.
I think these folks are part of the hive mind suffering from islamophilia!
As Woody Allen said, “You’re not paranoid if they really are trying to kill you!”

Ohio State went all the away to California to hire a pointy-headed Marxist to become its President. Way to go!
I’m starting to become embarrassed to be Ohio State alumni.
U of M is worse, but as far as I can tell not by much.
Donations to Ohio State ceased a while ago. If I could take the ones I made in the past back, I would.
And I’m not the only one...
Sadly, nope. Not a joke, But it is laughable in a “watch the train wreck” kind of way...
See my comment below. I am also an alumni and my contributions have STOPPED.
The world has gone insane..
Yes it has.
Oh dear. What will happen to the sweet young things they had making those alumni solicitation calls---always at dinner time? I guess they'll have to find new jobs. Especially since my new phone has the capacity to block 250 different numbers!
