I would like to see President Trump standing in front of this Orwell Dam (safely) and incorporating it into his infrastructure bill. His speech can go something like this. I am worried for the safety of the American people. Failed politicians have let our infrastructure deteriorate, neglecting their responsibilities but instead spending tax payer funds on special interest projects that only help their wealthy donors and friends.
I call for congress to quickly pass my infrastructure funding bill to begin restoration on our failing bridges, roads, air ports and other vital projects our country needs for their personal safety and a vibrant economy.

No, no, no—Congress shouldn’t be rewarded with a big pork-barrel bill before they pass serious tax cuts and repeal Obamacare!

Oink. Oink. Wonder if he Leadership will allow Members of our gutless Congress to read this before voting on it... Another Trillion in deficit spending, creating a less credible baseline upon which to project the 'cost' of much more desperately necessary tax cuts. The latter was first out of the gate in early 1961 & 1981. Putting Keynesian "stimulus" spending ahead of serious tax reform delays the first deficit effects and afterward the economic boom longer and make tax cuts a more difficult sell. And stimulus rarely stimulates.
It make real defense spending increase more difficult to sell also. I see the clumsy and cowardly strategies of our gutless Congress in this.
It should nevertheless be entertaining to watch the Soros-Left morph into deficit hawks.

Just like in 2008 - first thing out of the gate they pass a “stimulus” package.

Somewhere in all that will he explain how he pays for it?

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R. Ky.) told reporters he expects to receive some kind of recommendation on an infrastructure bill, a subject that we frequently handle on a bipartisan basis, but gave no details or timing. Shovel-ready jobs, Mitch?

If they are going to give states money tie it up so it is used only on that project, and not put into the general fund, and that the bids are for reasonable prices and only sound architecturally Memphis just went through a 5 yr major freeway construction, most of it is not sound architecturally to be safe to make lane changes. That they don’t go to any legislators relatives like Pelosi. We have to many freeways that are poorly built, medians than obstruct traffic view and are NOT needed.
