Fox News anchor Chris Wallace warns viewers: Trump crossed the line in latest attack on media

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace cautioned his colleagues and the network's viewers Sunday that President Trump's latest attack on the media had gone too far.

"Look, we're big boys. We criticize presidents. They want to criticize us back, that's fine," Wallace said Sunday morning on "Fox & Friends." "But when he said that the fake news media is not my enemy, it's the enemy of the American people, I believe that crosses an important line."

Chris Wallace doesn’t have a clue about the millions of people living in flyover who know the press speaks hatred against them when they speak hated and lies against Trump.

It’s like DC politicians and ‘news people’ know us through focus groups... groups that identify ‘trees’ but NEVER SEE OR EXPOSE the forest... The press is clueless about anyone other than ‘white liberal elites AND the victim groups that prop them up’. In short the press is democrat who can see ‘democrat’. They can’t see us.

They never do. And that’s fine.

The press has no moral authority, nor can they draw a fence around the first amendment.

The press can lie, fabricate, extrapolate, exaggerate all to their hearts content.

Everyone else, including the President, can say whatever they want about the press. It can also be a lie, a fabrication, extrapolation, or an exaggeration.

The press pretends to not take sides - they use this as a way to claim that they have standards and judgment. They have neither, and this is in the process of being exposed, so of course they will panic and send out a “call to arms”.

They have monetized their presumed judgment and standards - and when they are fully exposed, they will simply be hunter/gatherers of news on the same level as anyone else who wishes to claim to be a “journalist”.

This is as it should be as well.

A reputation for standards and judgment and truth takes a long time to develop. It’s also boring to report the truth even on a fast news day.

They are being sacrificed because they - as “news organizations” (generally) add no value and have no value except to hype and sell ads.

Trump is doing the right thing - and by doing so will save the “journalism” profession from itself - but only if they choose to simply report on truth and facts.

What is the "important line" that was crossed? Is that like the red line that Obama laid down in Syria and ultimately it didn't mean anything? Or is it that Trump has honestly and correctly exposed the Leftist media for who they really are? I still don't know what "important line" Trump crossed. Wallace never really explains what he means.

Trump is saying that the lying, fake news media types are the enemy of the America people and I couldn't agree more. They are not doing their jobs of reporting objectively. They are very subjective, to the point of making stuff up to match their agendas. They are deliberately lying to the American people and trying to convince them that Trump is the problem, not them.

I believe that they are in cahoots with the #NeverTrumpers and Obama and Hillary's "Resist" campaign to destroy Trump. They publicize the "leaks" as real news, when in fact, someone who leaked those storiesy to the media has a not-Trump agenda themselves.

Anyone with "half a brain", as Rush would say, can't watch CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS or NBC or read the NY Times, or the Washington Post, and not come away with the distinct impression that these people hate Trump and are doing everything they can to get rid of him. It's not rocket science. It's very plain to see.

If the media is deliberately trying to disparage Trump and his leadership only one month into this first term, then what else would you call these people? The enemy of the American people is a spot-on assessment by Trump.

My local Talk Radio station has been playing the audio from this Fox show for the last 3 weeks, at 8pm on Sunday night. I don’t watch Fox so I’ve turned the radio station off, but happened to catch some of this last night. Sounds like Chris is bought and paid for, and Trump ought to add him and the rest of Fox to the Enemedia.

All this hubbub in the media about Trump’s attacks is really a reaction to him tearing down the Potemkin village of “unbiased reporting of news” and “general definer of truth”. This facade is what has given media wealth and power.

By taking them back to their roots as cheap opinion rags it forces them to compete in the arena of ideas as an equal to anyone and everyone else who chooses to speak.

DEFINITELY not where they or their masters want to be. It destroys 100 years of work constructing the great lie, the Potemkin Village.
