NBA All-Star Game Ticket Prices Plunge: Location Change to Blame?
Fox Business ^ | February 17, 2017 | Thomas Barrabi

Ticket prices are plunging as this weekend’s NBA All-Star festivities kick off in New Orleans, six months after the league relocated the annual showcase event from its original site in Charlotte in protest of North Carolina’s controversial transgender bathroom law.

As of Friday morning, the cheapest available seat for Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game at the Smoothie King Center cost $184, according to data compiled by TicketIQ, a resale market ticket aggregator. That number is a 71% decrease from last year in Toronto, when the cheapest ticket on the Friday before the game cost $644. The plunge may not be over -- the price of the cheapest seat in 2014, when New Orleans last hosted the All-Star Game, fell 39% between Friday and tip-off on Sunday.

$184.00 for a cheap ticket? I wouldn’t pay $1.84

It’s supposed to be a huge weekend for pimps and hos who all converge on the All-Star Game city for that weekend.

They should have to pay me, but they do not have enough money to make me sit through that kind of “entertainment.”

The 2016 all star game score was 196-173. That’s a total of 369 points scored.

Very exciting, truly.

Unwatchable.

I will have my cable box tuned elsewhere. The NBA has ripped-off The Harlem Globetrotters who really know how to fix a game. Kind of like the WWF and our POTUS.

I am always good for a boycott.

Coke has a muzzie chairman and they’re supporting the gay agenda. One strike would have been enough.

They couldn’t pay me $184 to set through one of their games.

I haven’t watched an NBA game in years.

I went to a Timberwolves game with my brother about 10 years ago. He got free tickets from work. It was boring.
I can’t imagine spending hundreds of dollars to sit through that unless they made it like hockey where they allow checking.

The NBA would be improved immeasurably should a racial ratio apply. No more than one achwartzer per team on the floor at a time. In addition, no tats, no pearcings, no jewlery, no hair color, no dreds, and the list could go on.

The NBA, NFL, ESPN and others should study what happened to Sears/K-Mart/Kodak when they decided to go all touchy-feely PC instead of running their businesses.

A sport with non-stop scoring is exciting?

Doesn't scoring a point lose all meaning if one is scored every few seconds?

The NBA should have raised the rim years ago.

Basketball was designed for teenage white kids to keep them distracted.

It was never meant for 300 lb. 7 ft tall men.

That's why you have silly scores like 196 - 173 for an hour long game.

"I haven’t watched an NBA game in years."

I haven't watched any basketball game since they quit calling traveling penalties, which was .. what? 30 years ago? Heck, pretty much they go from one end of the court to the other with one or two dribbles? Might as well put on pads and just run an end sweep ...

“Coke has a muzzie chairman and they’re supporting the gay agenda. One strike would have been enough.”

It’s been a year since I went from JD and Coke to JD with soda and lime. It is a cleaner drink and I don’t get hopped up on the sugar. Introduced it to my son and his buddies who are all JD and Coke drinkers and they changed. They stopped offering JD and Cokes at their parties.

Which basically means that the so-called 'best-of-the-best' have no clue how to play defense.
