Trump obviously does not know the history here.
Trump was a successful businessman. You can’t really fault him for not being all that interested in foreign affairs. His priorities are clearly dealing with the Chicoms and Mexico. European tribal politics take a back seat to those two issues, IMO.
He is letting pence take the lead on this
