New Mexico’s Bishops: Trump immigration draft act of ‘war’ (AP fake news stirs illegal's supporters)

Allen Sanchez, executive director of the New Mexico Conference of Catholic Bishops, said Friday the Roman Catholic Church in the nation’s most Hispanic state would strongly oppose any effort to use National Guard troops to find and deport immigrants.

He says using the National Guard on a peaceful population would be like declaring a war within the U.S. borders.

The AP's fake news story saying the Trump administration was considering mobilizing National Guard troops to round up and deport illegals had the desired effect of riling up to a fever pitch all the sanctuary supporters. The story coming out Friday morning will no doubt drive weekend demonstrations all over the left coast states and other areas with high numbers of illegals or those with paid Soros protestors. This in spite of White House spokesman Sean Spicer saying the AP report was “100 percent not true” and “irresponsible.”

As a Catholic I thought the tax exemption for religious institutions made a lot of sense; I grew up in an environment where religious schools educated many children and religious hospitals provided care for many people. Those days are gone; here in NJ the government has crushed these institutions, and the remaining Catholic institutions practically function as government agencies.

No point in keeping the exemption; if these bishops saw their residences and autos suffer because their business was taxable they’d shut up - and better relate to the suffering of their flocks.

New Mexico bill halting immigration law enforcement moves

SANTA FE, N.M. — A proposal that would prevent New Mexico law enforcement agencies from enforcing federal immigration laws has cleared a Senate hurdle.

The Senate Public Affairs Committee voted 4-2 on Friday to move the bill that would prohibit New Mexico police departments or sheriff’s offices from cooperating with federal agents in deporting immigrants suspected of living in the country illegally.

The bill also would prohibit state agencies from reporting a person’s immigration status or religion.

The bill would effectively declare NM a sanctuary state.

I know, I’ve been watching with dismay. However, when CO enacted a bunch of harsh gun control 55 out of 62 CO Sheriffs said they wouldn’t enforce them or any more Federal gun laws.
