Where is the Tea Party? Should they be ramping up to help Trump?

So I see a March 4 Trump (a march to support Trump March 4)...but I'm curious why I really haven't seen the Tea Party infrastructure which still exist ..ramping up as a trump supporting group to counter the anti trumper's

I know the Tea Party is its own enty not a support one candidate... but in may way Trump right populism is an extension on the Tea party own right populism

Personally I think a good part of thr Tea Party was absorbed into Trump's campaign. But the Tea Party ability to organize Mass rallies is definitely what's needed right now for Trump support....

Consider the tea party's Mass March on Washington. Imagine it being a pro Trump March now instead of the original anti-Obama march..... it would help destroy the medias is narrative they're trying to push

The Tea Party evolved into the Donald Trump phenomenon. Although not exactly their leader (I think by definition, the Tea Party never had a leader), Trump saw the populist backlash against the Democrats’ overreach and seized the opportunity to present himself as the guy who heard them.

We are watching the fruits of our labors during the 8 years of the Obama dark ages. If not for the Tea Party, the Republicans wouldn’t have recaptured the House, then the Senate, creating huge obstacles for Obama. Now Trump is completing what we started. It’s great to watch!

Of course, just because Trump won doesn’t mean we should get complacent (though the Tea Party, IMO, was the backbone of the massive turnout we saw and continue to see at Trump rallies and events).

Tea Party was as genuine grassroots movement that wasn’t beholden to a person or even a party. Remember, there were even some Republican elected officials who got an earful from the Tea Party, too.

When a corrupt government becomes unresponsive to the will of people and pushes too hard on issues that are close to home (like the way Obamacare had been made law), you will see an iteration of a tea party.

I think they got IRS’d to death.

Obama used the IRS as a political and police arm to destroy the opposition.

He should be held accountable.

“The Tea Party evolved into the Donald Trump phenomenon”

This ^^^^^^. The Tea Party was instrumental in getting Republicans the majority in the House and Senate. Now they were big time in getting Trump elected.

Nor any promotion by the big talkers.

I haven’t heard any mention of the March 4 rallies by Hannety, Rush, Levin, Savage or anyone else.

Usually Sean is the first to jump in on things like this.

I’m sure a lot of people would show up if it was well publicized.

Exactly. That’s why the Tea Party had such great success in changing Congress during the midterms, but failed in 2012 to take back the White House. A conservative grassroots leader never emerged, and we were stuck with Romney, who tried hard to distance himself from it for that mythical “moderate vote” (the classic fool’s game that destroys most Republican candidates).

The establishment and media forced Romney on us. They tried again with Jeb Bush. This time, we took refused and took back the reins.

They keep asking for money. I was a Trump supporter early on, and they clearly backed Cruz. I have not donate since then, although their verbiage states that they are 100% behind Trump.

for obvious reasons, President Trump is now the defacto leader of the tea party. he hasn’t asked for that yet.

I never considered the Tea Party to be a single entity. As Rush put it, it was more of a “state of mind.” It was a national grassroots movement of protests that never had an official office, headquarters, or leader...though many factions claimed to be. It had more of a hive-like structure. It was instrumental in getting conservatives around the country involved in local governments, to take Washington DC back over from the inside.

I was a Cruz supporter at first, and it took me a while to figure out why Trump was surging in the polls. Of course, in retrospect, now I know better.

The Tea Party is not dead.
We still have 3 chapters here in NH.
They have turned their focus on education and we have been working on electing Conservatives into towns here in NH. Were still here.

The Tea Party was about small government. Even though we like some of the president’s policies, small government he’s not. Infrastructure bill comes to mind, not to mention his about-face yesterday on the dreamers. His plans are very far from the Tea Party.
