It got its name from the term TRIangle BElow CAnal Street, and I believe the original neighborhood was a tiny triangular two-block area bordered by Canal Street, Lispenard Street and West Broadway.
I don't like New York City, but I have to admit it has a very colorful and storied history.
I grew up there and I hate it with a passion now. The outer boroughs are all right, but Manhattan? There is not enough money in the world to get me to go back there for even 5 minutes, it IS the lowest bowels of leftist hell there right now. Hands down, there is no place on earth more leftist than Manhattan. It’s why the Clintons and Obama went there more than any other city for fundraisers, why there is a hardcore commie Mayor. Those two guys who blasted Ivanka on that flight? Those were two Manhattanites, and there are millions just like those two all over Manhattan. I don’t know how Trump stays there.
It was a cool city in the 1960s and 70s when I grew up despite the crime, but starting in the mid 1980s all these super arrogant ultra leftists started moving in and it just got worse and worse, like some kind of horrible fungus starting overtaking it until it pretty much turned in a mini North Korea but with food, but only the food they allow you to eat. The city does everything they possibly can to steal your money so they can support the millions of illegals and welfare breeding cows so there regulations up the wazoo, EVERYTHING is regulated.
The final straw for me was when Bloomberg wanted all landlords to submit a list to the city of all tenants who smoke, and I don’t even smoke, but that was it for me. When they started going into Nazi territory I was out of there “Submit to us a list of all the tenants who are Jews”. Just to give you an idea how insane that city is - 3000 people died there on 911 not to mention a Muslim tried to set off a car bomb in the middle of Times square. Yet they hold rallies demanding Muslims come into the city from terror producing countries. They WANT terror attacks!
Oh yes, and the city council honors commie spies.....
