Australian PM says Trump wasting his time criticizing media

U.S. President Donald Trump was wasting his time deriding the media over their coverage of his administration, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said on Friday, citing the example of British wartime leader Winston Churchill.

Trump has repeatedly described media criticism of him as "fake news" since taking office last month, labeling the media as the "opposition party".

On Thursday, he dismissed a growing controversy about ties between his aides and Russia as a "ruse" and a "scam" perpetrated by a hostile news media.

Turnbull, whose relationship with Trump got off to a rocky start earlier this month, said the 45th American president should stop focusing on the media.

"A very great politician, Winston Churchill, once said that politicians complaining about the newspapers is like a sailor complaining about the sea," Turnbull told reporters in New Zealand on Friday.

"There is not much point. That is the media we live with and we have to get our message across and we thank you all in the media for your kind attention," he said.

Dude obviously doesn't understand modern politics at all. You have the ability to TALK OVER the media now. There was no twitter in Churchill's day, there was barely tv.

They are no longer "the sea", they are seagull droppings. Maybe you, Mr. Turnbull, would be more popular if you didn't let them push you around.

And I would say the Australian PM is wasting his own time by criticising Trump who doesn’t give a damn what he says.

Have mixed thoughts about this.

On one hand, Trump should be above this kind of fracas.

On the other hand, he is doing more to destroy the mainstream press than any elected official or any single individual ever has done.

Uphold the dignity of the office or wage total war against a proven enemy of the republic and see it effectively neutered?

Trump is blazing the path beyond Cable/TV. If you live by twitter, you probably get a retweet about Trump. If you stick to more traditional sources, you get a news report on what’s being retweeted by Trump.

In terms of Aussie politics, Turnbull is a RINO who may be deposed in favor of a more conservative PM by his own party considering how many putsches there have been in the last decade in both major parties.

If his or her opinion poll numbers are too low, the leaders are deposed by their caucuses in the parliament.

I think it’s more a matter that Australian politicians have been dealing with a rabid lying left wing media for years now and knows it’s pretty pointless to bother arguing with them. They won’t stop doing it and the idiots who believe them will always believe them.

Exposing the MSM for the lying deceitful scum that they are has been a long long long time coming- it’s all part of draining the swamp- So no mr australia, it is not a waste of time- it is critical that the msm be exposed for all to see- because far too many people get their news from the msm and simply don’t know any better- just like they didn’t know any better about hilalry until she was exposed by wiki leaks

With all due respect to the commenting Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull of Australia, it is apparent to American citizen me, that he has a very shallow understanding of our American news media.

To wit, his quote:
"There is not much point. That is the media we live with and we have to get our message across and we thank you all in the media for your kind attention." LOLOLOLOLOL. Kind attention?

Furthermore, the Prime Minster should be advised that the leaks of classified information (like the contents of his phone call with President Trump) are crimes !

On one hand, Trump should be above this kind of fracas.

The MSM is owned and controlled by our enemy, the globalist NWO cabal. President Trump's election is a serious setback to their plans and they will do everything they can, using every tool they have, to defeat him. President Trump is dragging these media hacks out into the light of day and naming them as enemies of the country. Exactly as he should be doing.

Trump accomplished many things today hosting a news conference and criticizing scumbags in the media.

First off, it put him one against the scumbags who are getting ‘leaks’ of classified information within minutes of the President having a phone call or conversation. So he was able to put them on notice and so prepare a campaign that will culminate in having members of the press arrested for espionage.

It served to wake more Americans up to the fact that there are people in the White House and in the press who are working together to violate the law in releasing classified information.

The President is laying the groundwork so that when the arrests are made en masse that the American people will not be surprised and will be ready to see justice being served.

The President spent a lot of time describing his shock when he discovered that his confidential call with Mexican leaders was out in the press within minutes of concluding the call.

What I saw was a NY Builder who expects every worker, every trade professional to do their job to spec and here, unfortunately, was a discovery of cutting corners, of hiding unacceptable work, of creating safety and security hazards. And now he is going to have to do what he does not like to do which is to discipline those responsible.

He said the inauguration was great and that he wants unity, a coming together of purpose. But he complained about not having cabinet members confirmed and seated, mentioning that Senator Sessions had only been confirmed just days ago. And he let it be known clearly that he had inherited a mess.

The AU PM is simply wrong, very wrong.

I think Trump will teach the Australian PM how to do it. And, Trump will have fun doing it. It’s better than golf.

It appears from the response of my peers, only those who supported President Trump understand the significance of the press conference.

Repeating what others have said . . . greatest Presidential press conference in my lifetime! President Reagan was good, more subtle. This was typical New Yorker (Manhattan) brawl.

Undoubtedly more to come of this nature. Yippee Ya Yeah

This is how Reuters follows up today’s press conference. As much as I expected.

Approval ratings for the leftwing media keep going down, down, down.

Reuters is comprised mostly of compulsive liars who see manipulating the public as their purpose of existence. Deceivers who are themselves deceived.

I’m pretty sure there is a special place in hell reserved for today’s mind raping media. They attack and malign all that is good. They protect and promote all that is evil.
