MONTGOMERY, ALA. The Alabama House of Representatives voted Tuesday to block state funds to colleges and universities that declare themselves so-called sanctuary campuses for immigrants in the country illegally.
House members voted 72-28 for the bill to authorize the attorney general to block state funds to colleges that do not follow state and federal immigration law. The measure now moves to the Alabama Senate.
Rep. Phil Williams, the bill's sponsor, acknowledged no Alabama college has announced intent to flout immigration laws but argued that one might do so in the future. He said the state should be proactive instead of waiting for that to happen...

I wish they’d do that here in New Mexico. WNMU prides itself on recruiting and giving financial aid to the invaders at the expense of taxpayers.
Well certainly the money sent to these schools is being misappropriated. At the very least arrest the deans and make an example of them for encouraging policies that divert funding to subsidize criminal activity.
Good. I am very pleased Ala has blocked this allocation of money. Do more. Arrest the Deans and Regents and all who sanctioned such money in illegal use of state funds. Pack them off to jail. Wind them up in legalities. Feed them rice and beans.
ping
I’m pinging both the Auburn University and the state lists to this.
Please note: it states explicitly in the article that no university has signaled its intent to flout the law. The legislature is being proactive instead of reactive to this.
GOOD!
Thanks, Jem.
As someone who grew up in Alabama and is a die hard Bama fan, this is something me and you can agree with. This is an excellent proactive move by the state.
Thank you for the ping, and a good move by the state house.
While true, it's nonetheless a shot across the bow of the Birmingham City Council, which didn't vote to officially establish themselves as a sanctuary city, but is telling everybody that matters that they will be behaving as if they had done so.
Hopefully the state will treat that appropriately.
Good for Alabama! Every state should do that.
The measure has to be approved by the Senate, then signed by the Governor, then the Attorney General actually has to block the funds.
That’s a long way to go.
Nothing has happened yet. No victory, no shot across the bow, etc.
They just might “nick” Saban and dethrown them before the Buckeyes rise....
City of Birmingham has declared being a sanctuary city. Does this mean that colleges within the city limits apply as well?
Thanks for the ping.

The reason I move away from PSU is because there to many commies on campus. The call themselves leftist nowadays.
Both my kids attend Auburn right now. Newlywed SIL just graduated from Univ. of AL last May.
Glad the legislature is saying NO to sanctuary campuses.
Ridiculous.
Thanks for the ping.
War Eagle~!!!
