Mark the time and date: At precisely 12:40 p.m. on Feb. 14, on the 25th day of the Trump administration, a Democrat dealt from the bottom of the deck to play the Watergate card: What did the president know and when did he know it? demanded Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings.
It wasnt a question. Cummings was trying to turn the departure of Michael Flynn into a club and use it to batter President Trump like a baby seal.
The White House is shrugging off the cheap shot, but the coast is far from clear. Combined with mistakes and in-house dissension, the necessity of removing the top national security aide less than a month into the job signals that Trump is now face-to-face with his first presidential crisis.
The resistance against him is emboldened, yet theres no silver bullet because there is no single problem. Here are two areas Trump must address to regain momentum and keep faith with the public.
First, better control of his White House staff is essential to stop damaging leaks and circular firing squads. One especially strange example came when a Trump friend publicly criticized Chief of Staff Reince Priebus as in way over his head soon after meeting with Trump. Kellyanne plugs Ivanka Trump's clothing line on live TV Kellyanne plugs Ivanka Trump's clothing line on live TV And Kellyanne Conway, who was extraordinarily effective guiding Trumps campaign and articulating his agenda, looks exhausted and off her game. Her glib assertion that the public go buy Ivankas stuff was clumsy, and she did nobody any favors by claiming that Flynn still enjoyed Trumps confidence just hours before Trump fired him.
A second potential pitfall for Trump is that Paul Ryans House of Representatives seems to be all talk and no action. ......

Sound and fury...
What mountains out of mole hills.
It is meant as distraction because that’s all they have.
>> The resistance against him is emboldened, yet theres no silver bullet because there is no single problem.
Indeed.
The resistance against the Trump administration is: Disney, Comcast, Time Warner. (ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN)
Suspend your involvement with these derelict companies. They’re killing you.
What a joke.
>> Suspend your involvement with these derelict companies. Theyre killing you.
Metaphorically...
Are they comparing Elijah Cummings to Sam Ervin? I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Funny how the Progressives - as late as 2008 - would say the the ONLY way Sam and Cummings would talk would be because Cummings was shining his shoes or some other menial task.
Gawd, the left is desperate and completely insane.
bunch of whirling dervishes whipping themselves into frenzy after frenzy.
ATTACK the enemy . Without quarter.
Tarleton’s Quarter would work. Bayonet them when they run out of ammo.
All this sh!t is coming from Obama. He has moles in all the departments. He bought a house in D.C. just so he can manage the opposition to Trump. Round one - they brought down Flynn.
Crisis averted, tell the children they cannot stay home from school, the adults have work to do. There, there now... little Snowflakes.
Elijah Cumbreath is nothing more than a black house-whore, may his rancid, useless ass roast in agony in Hell for eternity.
I don’t know about that. The more I read about Flynn, the more I’m convinced he never should have been in that role in the first place.
Notice how there has been little to no coverage of Bam-Bam's comings and goings?
Normally the suck up media would be breathlessly reporting about his post presidential wonderfulness in detail.
My bet is that they've been told to back off.
Either he wasn't bright enough to realize, or didn't care, that just letting his Republican pals have inside information doesn't work now, everything goes straight to the anti-Trump crowd. Nothing stays within the party or friendly folks. My guess is that he didn't care.
If Trump had the right Chief of Staff this wouldn't have happened because they'd have been much more concerned with Flynn's connections to money men and RINOs.

> I think Reince Priebus [is a] good guy, well-intentioned, but he clearly doesnt know how the federal agencies work.
I don’t know much about Christopher Ruddy, and I don’t want to know more than the little I do know because it’s evident to me he brings nothing of value that would make me want to follow him.
His ‘Newsmax’ trash is only seen in my spam file about once a year when I have occasion to go look in spam for something on another subject. Most times his Newsmax headlines are some stupid rehashed repetition of a breakthrough in diabetes research, a new miracle fat burning pill, a get rich quick scheme or an urgency to buy gold. Once in a while, he parrots news that is a day or two old. All this tells me he’s not worth a single second of time.
It’s evident he has nothing of value to add in the Flynn matter because:
1. He’s talking with CNN, a known group of liars. He most certainly knows this. But they’re probably paying him because there are not many choices available to them to fill their stupid news feed.
2. He has zero experience working in federal government himself yet he presumes to lecture people about the WH Chief of Staff not knowing how federal agencies work.
Other than that, his history shows he’s a fan of the Clinton Foundation and of the Clintons.
As for his claimed membership in a Trump resort or any resort, that’s easy. Buy a timeshare to become an instant member. I heard someone brag of being a member of the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas. The membership was a small room timeshare paid for at some ridiculous rate.
So if Ruddy is bragging about being a ‘Trump friend’ it’s likely not true. It’s more likely he shook Donald’s hand at Mar-a-Lago and got a photo with him.
you are mistaken re: Christopher Ruddy. He is a friend of Trump’s and also a member at Mar a Lago.
He did have a drink with Trump this past weekend and has nothing personal against Priebus. I heard him interviewed on Howie Carr WRKO Boston yesterday.
So you think he’s fine in lecturing about how federal agencies work even though he has not one iota of federal government experience in any capacity?
I know firsthand his ‘Newsmax’ whatever it is, is trash.
As for his being a ‘friend’ of Donald Trump? Hell, Billy Bush was a ‘friend’ of Donald Trump.
I shook Ronald Reagan’s hand at church service at Bel Air Presbyterian. Was I a friend of President Reagan? No, I was not.
People in high profile public situations will often seem chummy with certain persons ‘in the press’. It doesn’t mean anything like friendship.
Truth be told, it’s lonely at the top, but there will always be those on lower rungs ready to declare their self-importance as a friend of the person at the top.
I am not arguing with you just to argue. It’s just that I don’t believe I am mistaken about Ruddy. If he was a real friend of the President’s, he would not be spewing garbage on a garbage network like CNN.
