Four Russian military aircraft conducted low passes against a U.S. destroyer in the Black Sea last week, the first such military provocation since the new Trump administration took office.
The incident took place Feb. 10 and involved the USS Porter, a guided missile destroyer, fending off low flights by what the commander of the ship regarded as potentially dangerous flybys.

That's got to be the shortest honeymoon ever. A ship off our coast and dangerous flybys. Whooope
The Destroyer needs a Captain that isn’t such a wimp. Low flyovers were common during the Cold War when you sailed near the other side’s coast, and if the US isn’t doing it along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, we need some new admirals and generals.
I understand that we have the right to sail in the black sea, and preventing us from doing so would violate all sorts of treaties.
But if you are going to sail off the coast of their country, would you not expect to get sort of “welcome” from them?
“Buzzed US Destroyer”
Captain, the men have been in the medicinal rum again.
Some of these flyovers have been dangerous, and I don’t believe anyone is doing the same thing to the Russian ships.
Exactly where in the Black Sea? International waters? ot not international waters?
Meh. I’m not too worried about this one. The exercise was taking place near Sevastopol, so in their backyard. I would expect a little “welcoming committee”.
Exactly which honeymoon regarding Trump are you referring to bruce?
Happened last year too.
Did the DD light ‘em up?

Were I a gambling man, I’d guess they were collecting emissions data for future SIGINT purposes.
According to the msn, Putin and Trump are basically married. This kind of throws a wrench in that theory
You’re an idiot.
Happens quite regularly. The Chinese do it too.
I certainly thought the US planes do the same to Russian ships.
Some post cold war encounters:

Of course, the Brits did it when the Russian Carrier sailed off the English coast going to and coming from Syria.
Fire off some chaff
International waters, most likely. If the Americans had entered Russian territorial waters, the response would likely have been more robust.
We are waiting for Bruce to clue us in. It’s his thread.

Putin supposedly engineered the election so that Trump could win, remember? So why now would he be spying with a ship near the coast of Delaware and buzzing our Destroyers? It makes the msm look like fools
Ha— That is true. What are we doing over there? What business to we have there?
