I dislike CNN, but I despise Maduro, the successor of the late un-lamented Hugo Chavez. If he hates them, they must have (however inadvertently) done something right.

CNN produces a large amount of content for other countries and other regions of the world. Much of that content is never shown here.

As I understand it, much of that content is far too anti-American in tone to ever be shown to an American audience.

I think this is one of the ways they get permission to do business in countries that are not friendly to a "free press." They provide a certain agreed-upon percentage of "great Satan" stories, blaming local problems on America. In return, they're allowed a small amount of independence to have their news crews move around the country without being jailed or shot.
