Hey guys. We MUST find out when our Congressmen are holding local "stay in touch w/ constituents" Town Halls, and show up ourselves. If we let these AstroTurf "grass roots" totally dominate these forums without any counter-protesting from us, it's going to become near impossible for GOP legislators to retain their newly-acquired backbones, and we will see NOTHING move on the legislative front. Trump can't do it all by himself with Executive Orders! And it's we the Congresscritter's constituents who bear more responsibility than Trump does for keeping them from having nervous breakdowns followed by the proverbial "Reaching Out Across The Aisle" - more commonly known as "Surrender".

Not the Tea Party. We, in the Tea Party meetings never tried to light an opponent’s hair on fire, as she stood in front of us listening to the inauguration speech. We, in the Tea Party, never blocked streets, preventing an expectant mother from reaching the hospital to have her baby.

There are many examples showing how the two groups are very different. Oh, and most Tea Party groups did not leave behind several metric tons of contaminated trash and garbage waiting to be removed after one of our rallies.
No one is perfect, but we don’t seem to delight in lawless behavior and random property destruction the way the dems do.

"This is soros/soetoro"

Doesn't matter. When our Congressmen eventually wilt under pressure and we get outraged at them, and they turn back around and ask us: "Well, where were YOU when this was happening?" .... just how will we answer?

Perhaps: "Hey, we would have driven across town to support you, y'know, but there were no conservative FatCats offering to pay us, so what do you expect?"

all town hall meetings should have their perimeter swept for buses and cars with out of state plates before the meetings, and if found don't let anybody in NOT from the district without proof of ID

If the violence can be traced to money coming from Soros overseas, his operation should be categorized as a terrorist organization so as to use everything available from our intelligence agencies to the military to defeat the insurgence .

The fascism that is sweeping the Democrat party is growing like a cancer. It was this type of fascism that swept Germany. And they installed Hitler to keep the masses happy. Now 80 years later this fascism is happening here in the US

The Tea Party never affected the Democrats. It only affected Republicans.

I attended a lot of those Tea Party gatherings in 2010.

The difference between us and "them" back then was that we showed up. That's the critical difference, much more important than who trashed the grounds and who screamed expletives.

But now the problem since 11/9 is that their side is SHOWING UP, and our side has YET TO SHOW. It's been over 3 months now since 11/9, and their barrage has been steady & unending, while our side's counter-protests have completely disappeared from view.

Yes, we won the championship game and went home. The trouble is that their team never left the field after the final gun, and people are watching them. We've laughed and hooted - "LOL! What does it matter WHAT they do out there? The game ended for pity's sake, so it doesn't matter a whit what the !@$% they do on the field now!"

Oh yeah?

Hey, it's ok to take a well-deserved vacation after a major victory, but we dare not sleep for TOO long. Never underestimate the steady drip drip drip drip of acid coming from our opponents over the long-term that is never answered by us.

And no, I'm not talking about adopting their nasty tactics. I am talking about JUST SHOWING UP.

If both sides show up at local Congressional Town Halls, and they are nasty while we are polite (except to stand up in front and turn around and yell at them to SHUT UP AND LET HIM TALK! when we've had enough), then we win.

But if it's just them who shows up and they do their nasties while we sit on our duffs at home, then even though their behavior will cost them points, the mere fact that they showed up while we didn't, will garner them far more points than they lose, and overall they win and we lose.

You’re right. No one else is raising this point.
We would probably have to shoulder the expense of hiring our own police protection.

These are not Republicans but brown shirt American Nazis, of the same ilk that burned UC Berkley, block ambulances, assault cops, wear bandannas over their faces.

I agree. Even an email letting our Congresspeople know we are still out here and have not changed our minds about implementing a conservative agenda would probably do wonders.

"why give them a forum?....why give them a platform?"

Huh? The forum in this case is your average run-of-the-mill Congressional Town Hall, ie a Meet & Greet that almost all Congresspeople do to let their constituents air their grievances. Didn't you ever go to any of these - especially back in the early Tea Party days - to put the Fear of God ... or what's more frightening to them - the Fear of Voter Backlash - into the beady little hearts of your Congresscritters?

Whether these forums happen is not the question. They're happening no matter what. The question is, do you want to let those who passionately hate us and our heroes and our beliefs and our politics ... outnumber us 100% to 0% at these meetings?

Actions speak louder than words. And when only one side shows up to a meeting that was open to all sides, it speaks volumes to the Congressmen standing up there.

If you don't want to yell back at the Lefties, then at least take a sign with you, or a MAGA hat or a US flag, so that you can eloquently yet silently let them know you're there.

And if you didn't already know this, believe it when I tell you that the other side absolutely DETESTS the American flag. I know this from standing out on the sidewalks opposite from them in at least 7 cities, starting in October 2001 and lasting until mid-Spring 2009 when they all melted away.

Either they had NO flag at all, or they'd have a bastardized flag with the stars arranged in a peace symbol, or where the stars are all replaced with corporate logos against the blue background, or just a UN flag, or in the worst cases a US flag dragging on the ground behind them from their belt - alternating with them miming the wiping of their butts with it.

The only time I remember seeing real US flags flown by them, there was always a UN flag deliberately flown HIGHER than it. (One of our group owned a UN flag, and you should have seen their pained expressions when he'd drive around their corner with it hanging out the door facing them, dragging on the ground).

OK, enough reminiscing. I need new signs, to be ready to go at an instant's notice when I hear of the next Town Hall coming up. Need some ideas! Maybe:

SHUT UP OR GO HOME,
FASCIST SNOWFLAKES

Or:
SOMETIMES EVIL DOES LOSE.
    GET OVER IT.   YOU LOST.

We actually had SOMETHING we were protesting.
OBAMACARE.
These thugs are just protesting to disrupt. Not GRASSROOTS
in the slightest.

These protest efforts are futile. They will not translate into votes for Dems.
In fact, I predict Pubs will make gains at MIDTERM.

they were just sitting in congress all these days. they could have already passed obamacare repeal in first week itself and Trump would have signed it.

I was thinking about some of this earlier today. Our Tea Party was about conservatism and fiscal responsibility for the nation. The feds were spending money like a drunken sailor and didn’t have it to spend. When they spent 900 billion they were spending borrowed money and it made us nervous. Our Tea Party (Taxed Enough Already) was something very different than whatever the libs are doing now. It certainly is NOT a Tea Party like liberal group.

We didn’t have violence and anyone was welcome as long as they behaved reasonably well. The Tea Party get together’s I went to had a small town fair type atmosphere of like-minded Patriots. Race or party affiliation didn’t matter either. Like I said; it was far more about simple American values (conservatism) and our country’s fiscal health which as we know went from bad to worse under obola.

We should be throwing that in their faces a lot more than we have been. Obama was 10 Trillion times worse than any President before him. I still can’t believe to this day an empty suit like him was elected then re-elected although I suspect the second time was very rigged.

There are a lot of far leftists that still can’t believe Trump was elected. To them he is their worst nightmare just as obola was ours.

"These protest efforts are futile."

Wishful thinking. When your local newspapers or TV stations cover it, and the headline is "Angry Constituents Give Congressman A Piece Of Their Mind," and the only attendees they can find to gather quotes from are the Anti's, then it gets spun far & wide to anyone turning on the local channel at night to see weather & sports, as: "Widespread, growing anger at Congressman Smith throughout his Congressional District".

Doesn't sound to me like a loss to their side.

Let's not confuse the worst protests - eg burning limos & smashing bank windows - with the less violent ones at the Town Halls as described in this article, where the worst behavior is persistent loud booing from "constituents" that causes the speaker to cut short their appearance. Yes, the former case will cause them to lose ground, but the latter case will not, especially if the TV reporter announces that they tried but failed to find a single voice there to support the Congressman and/or Pres. Trump. A video clip of all the signs that are 100% in one direction is all the proof they need.

For the most part, I've found that reporters for *local* outlets, even though they lean leftwards, will at least, if only grudgingly, take photos of BOTH sides of a protest and interview at least one of our side. I have *never* seen them completely shut us out of the coverage.

BOTTOM LINE ONCE AGAIN: Merely show up, people!
