You can get more up to date rumors on twitter. Just google #raqqa, go to twitter (first link), and select the “Latest” tab. We can watch this one go down from our armchairs - good fun.

It looks like rapid SDF advances continue North of the city. The 17th base should be soon (days) at this rate. As soon as they come to a strong point, airstrikes wipe it out promptly.

Other reports say that the SDF has just received a shipment of armored vehicles for the operation, without saying how many or what type.

There has definitely been a lot of coordination with the local Arab tribes to prepare for this op. Raqqa is predominantly Arab demographically, and ISIS tried to frame it as an ethnic invasion. SDF has established a lot of credibility with Arabs though, for how they included them in the governance of other areas they liberated from ISIS, like Hasakah and Manbij.

I’ve been following a long time. Have a relationship with some for 2 years.

Most days I have pretty good updates.

I like the Kurds a lot.

Yes, twitter helps. I first came here during #IranElection phase in 2009.

Have seen a number of other events since then. Each time gets a little more useful.

Relationships come with time. Not instant. Few things on the web can be trusted.

The Trolls are a genuine pain in the A$$.
