President Trump is expected to follow the first-year practice of former President Ronald Reagan and attend the February Conservative Political Action Conference, the annual gathering and boot camp of young conservatives.
Reagan went to seven of eight that were held when he was president, telling the convention in his first year as president, "You dance with the one that brung ya."
Matt Schlapp, the chairman of the American Conservative Union, which is putting on the event Feb. 22-25, told the Washington Examiner he expects Trump to come. He has already nailed down a date for Vice President Mike Pence to speak.

I want to contest this view. The jury is very much out. It is only after a lot of folks spent the last 10 days setting a fire under McConnell, that we have seen a push to get some confirmations done. More still needed, Gorsuch is an emergency, and then they have real "work" to do if work is what you call these guys sitting around all afternoon voting to vote to suppress a motion to table an objection to keep a motion from getting to the floor so that someone can schedule the vote on scheduling the vote.

Bummer. We’ll be on a cruise during CPAC this year. Glad we sprung for the unlimited free internet package so we can keep up a bit during vacation.
