A state representative has a resolution making October 2017 Zombie Awareness Month.
State Rep. Emanuel Chris Welch (D-Hillside) said he wants to grab media attention with the title in his resolution. He hopes the bill will encourage discussions on how to be prepared for the next disaster.
If you can find something like zombies, which modern culture is talking about, youll catch peoples attention, Welch said.
He also thinks Zombie Awareness Month is a better name than Disaster Preparedness Month.
When you have six or seven thousand pieces of legislation, you have got to have creative ways to bring attention to your good ideas, Welch said.
Having a safe place inside a house, a battery powered radio and a three-day supply of food and water are good ways to be ready against forces of nature, as well as the undead who intimidate Welch.
If were prepared for zombies, youre prepared for a natural disaster, he said.
Zombies, better known as sons of Obama.
Every month should be Zombie awareness month
“Why yes, Officer, this here samurai sword is for...uh...flooding, yeah, that’s the ticket...”
Well, Chicago is full of brain dead democrats so he may have a point.
Yeah, we’re aware of who the zombies are and we know how to deal with them too.
You should see my wife’s rig.

Just declare the Illinois State Legislature a “zombie-free zone” and the state might be safe again.
We sure as hell DO have a zombie problem, every other November.
