Geneva (AFP) - The woman's shadowed eyes stare out from a black niqab with the poster's tagline urging Swiss voters to reject "uncontrolled naturalisation."
But critics of the campaign image distributed across the country ahead of Sunday's referendum say the poster is really just a brazen appeal to those worried about more Muslims becoming Swiss.
"That is exactly what they are trying to (do)", said Pius Walker, who heads the Zurich-based advertising agency Walker AG.
"It is a very, very frightening thing that is going on here."
The issue in Sunday's vote, the latest in Switzerland's direct democracy system, is whether the grandchildren of immigrants should be able to benefit from an expedited citizenship process.
The government as well a majority of lawmakers and political parties support the proposal.

Old neutral Switzerland. Soon to be part of the caliphate from the muslim perspective.
This suggests to me that the Swiss,unlike many Europeans,are sensible,logical people.
If I'm correct in that assumption then the moslems will be fresh out of luck when the results of this vote are announced.
Actually, the Swiss are among the least stupid of the Europeans. They never allowed themselves to be lured into the EU. They kept their currency.
And there seem to be signs in recent years that they are waking up to the threat to their way of life posed by Muslim immigration.
But no doubt Ben Simon and Yahoo! News have nothing but the best interests of the Swiss people at heart, with their push for “pluralism.”

The second a Muslim “refugee” and ESPECIALLY a dark skinned Somali refugee steps foot within 10 miles of Lucerne or Lausanne they will shut down immigration in seconds. No one dare disturb the bucolic splendor of the world’s elitist summer homes. You think George Clooney wants to live next to a camp of Eritreans? They will be OK as long as they are stuck in ghettos and promise to vote for progressives they’ll be OK. They aren’t going to be working at Rolex any time soon.

On multiple trips to Switzerland, I found the Swiss I met to be very racist, and in general condescending to anyone who isn’t Swiss. However, it is their country and they should be able to control immigration any way they want.
