In the Koran, Mary (in Hebrew, Miriam) the mother of "the prophet Jesus" is the same person as Miriam the sister of Moses. Centuries of Jewish history get erased.

So it's not just a question of anti-Christian theology. Muhammad garbled the Bible narrative as an illiterate who'd only heard it second hand.
