I believe your interpretation is probably correct - lots of folks seem to be poised to find any reason they can to “worry” about Trump and/or his nominees.

I live in NYS. NYS GOP is an acronymic oxymoron. Why switch?

Trump tweeted that the comment was mischaracterized. KellyAnn Conway agreed that the comment included Trump’s tweets, but that doesn’t mean it was directed only at Trump, because the need for the Tweets could also be part of what Gorsuch found disheartening.

If you tweeted that you found my comments crazy, and a neutral party said that was disheartening, that doesn’t necessarily mean that person is focused on you. It could be that the person finds the entire situation disheartening. It could be that my comments really were crazy and you were disheartened by the comments more than anything else.

FWIW, I’m a Dem. I just don’t vote that way. And I’m not alone. Might wanna scale back that blanket condemnation just a bit :-)

I wouldn't. You are not a democrat in today's world or you would not be a FReeper. Perhaps a former dem is what you mean in which you are no longer a democrat.

In the interest of full disclosure, I’m still a registered ‘Rat. But with the rise of the uniparty, the letter after the name ((D, I, R) can mean bugger all anymore. Which is why I put my faith in principles instead of party.

“Gorsuch’s comments have been confirmed”

Confirmed by whom?

FWIW, I'm a FORMER Republican.

I want no association whatsoever with the GOPe. Lyin' Ryan turns my stomach. So does the turtle.

I despise a party that forced McCain and Romney down my throat.

I regret every penny I ever contributed to the national party.

I especially despise the entire Bush family. The way they have treated the first President willing to fight for the things I believe in since Reagan is disgraceful. They have shown their true colors. After the first Bush betrayed Reagan I should have known.

I'm a Christian, a patriot, and a conservative. Maybe someday the Republican party will be too. But until that day, I am NOT a Republican.

.

As a final shot, fully intended as an insult, it was actually kinda funny watching the GOPe try to force the clown Jeb! down our throat.

Just heard on Cavuto it was Blumenthal who made the disheartening comment, and he says Gorsuch agreed too bad it happened and he could be reported as saying it was regrettable.

Whole lot different than Gorsuch initiating those words.

Too bad it’s happened.

“Why the HELL are you a Dem??”

Is it OK if I’m not a Republican but instead registered Unaffiliated, or will you attack me too?

Isn’t there a train station platform somewhere that really, really needs to be personally inspected by Dick Blumenthal?

There were Freepers on here last night, saying they had heard it had been confirmed by Fox News. And one person said that FOXBusiness host, Lou Dobbs, had confirmed it through Neil Gorsuch’s publicist.

I can tell you I am now very concerned over Gorsuch being placed on the high court. And I’m going to voice concerns to my representatives.

Okay.

Because alledged comments made by a lying “vietnam” vet saying he was disturbed by alledged POTUS comments that we don’t know the context of. . .no sir.

“Confirmed” that the lying “vietnam” vet made those comments. Not confirmed the judge made those alledged comments.

Big difference.

My support is even now stronger.

LOL ...gotta have deep pockets to defeat DickDick and Chris.

I pray that some of the awakening of the national silent majority rubs off on the entrenchment in our state. We HAVE to get rid of the dems and the rinos.

Before that happens, I hope to be a resident somewhere else.

“I’m a Dem. I just don’t vote that way. “

Then in what sense are you a “Dem”?

Do you contribute to the Democrat Party?

I can’t understand how any member of this forum would identify as a Dem.

I certainly can understand NOT identifying as a Republican. Personally, I’m a former Republican, conservative independent.

Sen. Ben Sasse just contradicted Trump, confirms Gorsuch’s comments on @Morning_Joe: “He got pretty passionate about it.” pic.twitter.com/tsPeQ156vs

— Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) February 9, 2017
Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) on Thursday said President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee passionately criticized Trump’s attacks on federal judges during a meeting, contradicting the president’s tweet about Gorsuch’s views.

“Judge Gorsuch and I actually talked about that and frankly, he got pretty passionate about it,” Sasse told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” moments after Trump accused a Democratic senator of misrepresenting Judge Neil Gorsuch’s views.

“I asked him about the ‘so-called judges’ comment, because we don’t have so-called judges or so-called presidents or so-called senators, and this is a guy who kind of welled up on with some energy and he said any attack on any of I think his term to me was brothers or sisters of the robe is an attack on all judges.”

I grew up in Westport ... until I hit the road to college and other places, finally landing in the Midwest.

Shame that the greatest export of Westport, and now the rest of Connecticut, is .... her children.

Blumenthal never WAS IN VIETNAM. I didn’t see him there. Did you?

The same for former Marxist Senator Tom Harkin (D-IO) who was in the service during some of the Vietnam war. He came back to visit Con Son Island with Hanoinik Don Luce (UVS), Rep. Augustus Hawkins (D-CA), an admitted former member of the Communist Party USA and I belief Rep. John Anderson.

Their false stories about the conditions at Con Son Island (after LIFE magazine’s falling for the Luce fudged photos story), were exposed by Rep. Phil Crane (D-Ill)in a June or July, 1970 story in the conservative weekly “Human Events” with clarifying photos of the Luce con-job one.

You can automatically assume that if a Democrat politician opens their mouth and makes a claim about anything other than their birthdate (place, is another thing), they are lying or distorting something.

You know the old saying, “Never trust a man with his hand on your wallet”. Let’s add to that, “Never trust a Democrat with their mouth open”.
