There really is a simple solution to idiots like this. Every “refugee” let in under his ruling is re-settled to within a mile of his home.

The wall will stop convoys and maybe slow some of the coyotes but nothing will control the illegal until the price for crossing outweighs the reward. No one is even posing this problem let alone wants to deal with it.

Seconded. Albeit the judge should have refused to discuss anything with journalcrats who simply want to push him into a gaffe.Silence is golden; there is no way to say anything helpful in that situation.

I regard this argument as vacuous. Really, I hate hearing it anymore.
Please consider an analogy: Stopping smoking will not prevent ALL lung cancer; therefore, it is not worth doing. (???!!!)
I didn't say the wall was a waste of time, I said it wouldn't matter if there is no penalty for crossing it and that is an absolute truth. You add the penalty and the wall will be rock a solid deterrent.
