Employees at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls were instructed to trash any signs advertising merchandise from Ivanka Trump's retail brand, The New York Times reported Wednesday.
According to the Times, employees at the two sister stores were told to throw away Ivanka Trump signs and move her products from individual display areas to shelves mixed with other brands. Effective immediately, please remove all Ivanka Trump merchandise from features and mix into the runs, read a note to workers obtained by The New York Times. All Ivanka Trump signs should be discarded."
Runs refers to the other clothing racks where the majority of products hang.
A spokeswoman confirmed that the note was sent to employees and told The New York Times that the Ivanka Trump merchandise was mixed into the racks, not removed from the sales floor entirely.
We offer a rapidly changing selection of merchandise for our customers, and brands are featured based on a number of factors, parent company TJX Cos. spokeswoman Doreen Thompson said.
The T.J. Maxx decision comes after Nordstrom pulled Trump's merchandise from its shelves. The department-store chain announced it would cut back on stock of Trump's merchandise, choosing not to sell most recent seasonal line of clothing, though some would remain in stores.
The store said on Twitter that the decision was not based on politics, but "the brand's performance."
President Trump earlier Wednesday attacked Nordstrom on Twitter for pulling his daughter's line from stores.

So sad. Even sadder that I do not have a credit card to rip up.
How many Libs will start patronizing T.J. Maxx and Marshalls because of this decision?
How many Conservatives will stop patronizing T.J. Maxx and Marshalls because of this decision?
These headlines are meant to demoralize us. They think we can’t live without these brands. We are conservatives. Surely we can figure out how to handle this.
Talk about hypocrisy? They still want the money from the sales, they just won’t advertise the product. No matter, I don’t shop those stores and never will.
It’s never a good idea to piss of ~50% of your customers...
Just hoping that customers still come into their stores looking for the product. 50% of them will get the word before I finish this posting.
I wonder if this is because people are trashing the merchandise, or because the owners are liberals?
It’s because most corporations are controversy-averse. They just want it to go away, and this is the easiest way for them to try to do that.
But then, you have those corporations who appear to court controversy. Why, being publicly traded I couldn’t say, because it’s sure not increasing shareholder value. They must be getting compensated in some other manner, that’s the only logical conclusion.
These stores are being threatened by a liberal organization that has them on a target list.
“Trump voters” to the back of the bus. Don’t buy their products. What’s next, sending us to camps?
I like the way the CTRL-LEFT throws around the KKK analogies when they themselves treat us like the KKK treats blacks and Jews.
BOYCOTT TJ MAXX.
I think you are right.
Buy my clothes from JC Penney and Wal-Mart because they fit. Will go back to sewing if I have to. ;)
The Hill gleefully “reporting” in this.
Makes me wonder how much of these Ivanka merchandise stories are #FakeNews.
TJ Who?
So unbelievably petty. It’s too bad... I like their stuff and prices but will never shop there again.
Adding TJ Max to my boycott list. A shame about Marshall’s. They have some good clothing deals there.
I thought that Ivanka sold the entire company. If so, these stores are only hurting an unrelated businesswoman. Some defenders of women they are.
