I used to work in Detroit, and had the pleasure of working around some “devout” muslims.
You could tell who they were, by the look in their eyes. Hard to describe, but it looked like a combination of batshit crazy, and homicidal rage. Oh, they would talk with you, but they had a hard time not showing their utter contempt of your very existence.
And my family wondered why I carried all sorts of concealed weapons with me when I went to work.
Lived in Dearorn from ‘04 to ‘07. The looks of utter contempt kept me indoors most of the time. Traveled with my DH as much as I could, and made trips home to KY. We took a loss of 40K on our condo as we couldn’t wait to get out of that place.
A muslim family moved in across the street at the beginning of the month. 2 days ago one of the women walked by in hijab. My nearly 17 year old dog was out front and barked to be let in, but I was out back doing something, though I could see the road. The look of utter disgust on the woman’s face was palpable, and she kept staring with contempt for a good 75 yards as she continued.
I am actually concerned for the safety of my dogs now.
I have lived in a major urban, leftist region most of my life. I am by nature egalitarian: I am naturally inclined not to be bigoted toward anyone or anything.
(This personal inclination is subordinated to the truth that I am both a Christian and a conservative; that is, I consciously choose to be biased against, say, homoerotic so-called marriage on legal, moral, and spiritual grounds, not personal or emotional ones.)
I first worked with Muslim males in the tech industry in my youth. I quickly learned how intolerant, arrogant, deceitful, and vicious they were inclined to be toward what they called infidels, especially toward women in any position of authority.
Noting I have seen or read since then has changed my view - quite to the contrary. (Anyway, I know the actual history of the last 1,400+ years, and the actual truth about the Crusades.)
