Intense rhetoric between Chicago democrats and Illinois’ republican governor is nothing new, but some parents are upset it is now being played out in a letter sent home with their kids.

Chicago Public Schools officials sent home a letter with all 381,000 students blasting Gov. Bruce Rauner and ignoring any role democrats may have played in the state’s budget woes.

The “Dear Parents” letter begins by stating “Governor Bruce Rauner, just like President Trump, has decided to attack those who need the most help.” Twice the letter accuses Gov. Rauner of “cheating” children. Once it says the governor “stole” from kids.

The letter goes on to cite Chicago Public Schools CEO Forrest Claypool’s often repeated claim that the governor broke a promise by blocking Chicago from receiving $215 million for city schools.

If this letter went home with 381,000 students, assume that AT LEAST a half million dollars was wasted in producing the letter for distribution. Great use of money for education, right?

In a choice between continued growth of the radical left nanny-state, funded by debt, and government bankruptcy - I choose government bankruptcy.

Its not an attractive option, but debt and the unbacked, fake currency continue to feed the cancer on the Republic.

13% of CURRENT CPS kids DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH.
The chances are the vast majority of these are here ILLEGALLY.

If they leave, how much extra money will districts like CPS have “For the CHILDREN!”???

Trump has filed for reelection in 2020; is the letter a violation of election laws?

So they waste money on a letter. How many parents are able to read this or anything else for that matter? I bet most kids tossed the letter in the trash before they came home from school.

381,000 copies at Staples @11cents/copy = $41,910. In color, $186,690. Who paid for this?

Ha, must be that the governor isn’t cowering to the teacher union that is solely for the union - NOT for the students. As for Trump, he has stated many times of the need to help the Black communities out of their blight. What, exactly, did Obama do in 8 years to help solve the “hood” problem?

In a few years, just think of all the monies they will saved when half the kids are blasted away in their neighborhoods by all of the dems ‘success stories’ they have been importing.

Obama did absolutely nothing. In fact, he exacerbated it.

Some great community “organizing” there ...

If African-Americans would open their eyes, they would see that (Although I am sure that many do understand that).

It’s just that Obama has stoked the flames of racial tension so badly, it is a terrible, terrible shame. Very, very sad.

That will be an important part of his legacy, when history is written.
