According to a U.S. Food and Drug Administration statement released Friday, Evangers, a family-owned and -operated cat and dog food business, decided to voluntarily recall five lots of the product all of the Hunk of Beef products that were manufactured that same week. The products were distributed to retail locations and sold online in these states: Washington, California, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
Hunk of Beef is Evangers best-selling food. Pets nationwide consume more than one million cans of the product each year, the company said in a statement. By the time Evangers heard about the New Years Eve incident, it believed that at least 200 dogs had already consumed the food from the same lot number, but no other household in the country aside from Maels reported an illness, the company said.

So why does that make this fake news.
Stupid stupid stupid

The article is news.Period. Readers with 1/2 a brain are supposed to decide if it is valid or not.
This Fake News crap is getting out of control and you obviously have bought into it.
You humor is a bit grim considering some folks might have purchas d this product
IF some one purchased this brand of dog food , THEY may wish to make that decision...not rely on you
Why exactly is it fake news just because your pets are healthy??
Another source of this story:
What is fake news is reporting a single accident implies a widespread problem with our pet food supply.
Media blow stories all out of proportion.
Not fake news. The question is why is pentobarbital in these Evangers cans of dog food? The speculation is that they are using dead euthanized animals who have been sent to rendering plants as dog food. Evangers is off my list of food that I would give to my dog. The list keeps growing.
Chihuahuas are not dogs. They are alien mutant ankle biting vermin. :) I like dogs. I hate Chihuahuas!
From what I read, the dogs that were sickened were pugs.
I think China somehow is involved.
Regardless of any debate over the nature of the drug, the fact that it was present in a dog food manufacturing facility at all is rather curious. There is no reason for such a drug to be present in such a facility. This to me means that it was not an accident, the dog food was intentionally adulterated.
Feeding euthanized pets to pets?!? Sickening.
The dog died and the three others were hospitalized. Your comment is strange to say the least.
I have three dogs and two cats. They’re all healthy. I don’t understand what that has to do with this though.
