“A sacramental marriage can’t be rendered invalid.”

Her willingness to go down this path would suggest she did not take her vows seriously in the first place. It would be that that would render it invalid...

Incidentally, I am a Catholic and that was many decades ago. And I’m still with her after 48 years...

I understand what your saying now. It was the wording that you use “rendered invalid” that implied a marriage was valid and became invalid due to a subsequent action that is confusing.

“implies the possibility of an invalid marriage” might be a better way of putting it.
