Wheres the laser system Reagan wanted? We may or may not have that, but we really don't need it; Patriot and Navy SM-3 can handle missile and satellite threats.
But CivilWarBrewing mentioned the X-37B, which would (presumably) be used if we wanted to snatch the Iranian satellite out of orbit for an intelligence review.
That's why I made the remark about booby-trapping the satellite.
If all we want to do is zap it, SM-3 is proven technology. USS Lake Erie has zapped several.
Of course, certain technological means may or may not be available for neutralizing a booby-trapped satellite in orbit, about which I know nothing.

Whoops, looks like it ran into some space debris. Too bad. In other news, America successfully tests new space missile!

"Of course, certain technological means may or may not be available for neutralizing a booby-trapped satellite in orbit, about which I know nothing."Please explain what a "booby-trapped satellite" is. Does it explode on demand? Does it harm an offensive weapon?
What is the threat to us if we attempted to take it out?

What makes you think the X-37B doesn’t have offensive weapons or ‘stand off’ capabilities?

Frightening that they have the technology to launch TWO
Godzillas. Being able to launch two Eagles from Space 1999 worries the Ghost of Martin Landau ;)
