Iran is preparing to celebrate the 38th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution next weekend by launching a satellite into space from the Safir vehicle, according to images obtained by US spy satellites from Irans launch sites.
Safir was the first vehicle used to launch Irans first satellite into orbit in February 2009.
In response to US President Donald Trumps warning to stop missile tests, supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Tuesday: The Iranian people will respond to his words on Feb, 10 and show how they stand up to such threats.
The satellite launch is expected to take place the next day, on Feb. 11,

Khamenei: Trump shows the real face of America
DEBKAfile February 7, 2017, 4:56 PM (IDT)
Irans supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei dismissed Donald Trumps threats on missile tests, saying the president “showed the real face of America.” He told an audience of military chiefs, according to a post on his official website, “No enemy can paralyze Iran.”
“Trump has said we should be scared and frightened of him
we will show on the anniversary of our revolution (Friday, Feb. 10) how we respond to his threats,” Khamenei said, calling on every Iranian to turn out for a mass anti-US protesthttp://www.debka.com/newsupdatepopup/19867/Khamenei-Trump-shows-the-real-face-of-America
Ahhh, Debka. Never more than 5 standard deviations away from dead center. :)
Let’s give more money to countries that hate us.
Indeed.
Although they may have booby-trapped their satellite.

Where’s the laser system Reagan wanted?
Given our lying media, I am almost willling to bet DEBKA is more accurate than our MSM is!
No, the raghead mullahs will respond - the Iranian people hate them.
Thank you for pointing that out.
I missed that this was sourced from them.
When your CEP is > 3n, that ain’t saying much. :)
We do have some lasers on some planes. Shame if it were to have a problem.
I worked on ballistic missile defense back when it was SDIO. Lots of people laughed at us, called it "Star Wars," in other words, fiction. No one laughs anymore, I think.
You can thank Obama and H Clinton for this one. When they brokered the deal with Iran, it forced the release of frozen money in banks controlled by different countries around the world.
Iran’s assets were first frozen by U.S. president Jimmy Carter in 1979 totaling $400M. But Iran’s “frozen” money has begun to thaw from banks in other nations.
For years, Iran had tens of billions of dollars worth of funds that were languishing in banks, unable to be used, because of global sanctions. Iran’s central bank announced that the nation has successfully transferred billions worth of assets from banks in South Korea and Japan to banks in Germany and the United Arab Emirates since the loosening by the deal with the US. The White House also referred to the $100 billion figure in a summary it released of the nuclear agreement between Iran and the United States, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany.
So, thanks to Obama and Clinton, Iran is back in business of nuclear proliferation along with the another possibility. There has been some concern that Iran might use part of the money it’s now recovering to fund opponents of U.S. policy in the Middle East, including the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah, the Palestinian militant group Hamas, and the Syrian government.
Thanks Barrack and Hilary for all you’ve done.
