Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) is introducing legislation on Tuesday with Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) designed to cut the level of immigration into the United States in half, with the express intent of refocusing the nation’s immigration policy onto helping American workers instead of foreigners first. In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Tuesday morning, Cotton explained that the legislation will cut the number of green cards given out every year from about a million a year down to about half a million a year—all designed to help the forgotten American worker who has gotten a “raw deal” thanks to overflowing immigration levels into the United States in recent years—causing wages to decline and job prospects to stagnate. “Over several decades, we’ve on the one hand seen people who work on their feet and work with their hands see their wages fall—20 percent if you don’t have a high school degree, 2 percent if you have a high school degree,” Cotton told Breitbart News. “People with college and advanced degrees are doing just fine. At the same time, we’ve seen record numbers of immigration—almost all of it low-skilled or unskilled immigrants coming here. Of course, that level of immigration is going to hurt the availability of jobs for blue collar workers and put downward pressure on their wages. So I think we need to re-orient our immigration system to look out for American citizens—especially those American citizens who have gotten a raw deal in recent decades. My bill today would be a first and modest down payment by getting a handle on green cards because we give out a million a year and the vast majority of those are unrelated to unemployment and they let in low-skilled and unskilled workers. That needs to change.”

Yes, this is really what’s been going on for all of my life. This isn’t about “the milk of human kindness,” it’s about destroying this country’s heritage and turning in into “just another $hit hole like the whole of Europe. And no one anywhere wants to ask the Liberals point blank on national television to fully and completely answer this question.
When I see our neighbors to the North say they will take in the terrorists refugees; I worry about their future too. Right now the numbers are low but in short order that could change and turn Canada into another Islamic Europe. Bad juju.

Ditto what Senator Cotton said. I know every other country on the planet sucks but EVERYBODY on the planet cannot live in the United States of America. We just don’t have the cell towers to handle that large of a population.
It is amazing to me how most of our pundits and politicians have no sense of history or bother to refer to it.
From 1920 to the early 1960’s this country had a very restrictive Immigration policy, even during W.W. II and the aftermath. Numerous Presidents have done all sorts of things as to Immigration and Policy for the last 80 some odd years.
Yet to listen to the MSM, Trump is breaking new ground on all of this.
It’s all about putting things back into a equilibrium and the Left has had it’s way too long.

Just a ploy to keep immigration flowing at a level higher than the economy can absorb. Never trust these people. How about cutting it to nothing until we straighten out the mess we already have. If we want to help the people of the world then spread freedom.

Yes, there have been substantial periods of time with very strictly controlled low numbers of immigrants. But Ted Kennedy’s and his compatriots 1965 immigration act was intended to change our country once and for all with massive third world immigration. The left has made significant strides with this type of immigration—picking off formerly Republican California and some other states.
The left has been getting closer and closer to a lock on national elections, in large measure due to immigration. Now that there is some push back, they are coming unglued.

I agree. I don’t know if Trump will move in that direction or not but I hope that in due time he will.

That is my preference.
However, given that there are only about three Senators who will even seriously discuss restricting the numbers of immigrants (which number will drop to two when Sessions becomes AG), it is noteworthy when someone like Cotton will propose legislation cutting the current numbers in half.
It will be interesting to see if McConnell will ever allow this bill to come to a vote in the full Senate.
Let's stop ALL immigration until the current millions of immigrants are assimilated. I'm sick of the UN giving us millions of new democrats every year - and to add insult to injury - democrats who don't like middle class Americans ...
