President Donald Trump could have threatened to invade instead of just hanging up on Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and the rest of those blokes down under.
In what should have been a friendly call to one of our staunchest allies, the call ended up nasty, but not before Trump, as is his wont, bragged about his electoral victory over Hillary Clinton, something of which he cannot stop talking about.

Trump should know better. If he can’t diplomatically reneg at this point, he needs to enlarge the deal.
Agree that he’ll accept them at Gitmo if Australia will pay the prison expansion costs, and they together find some small country—maybe an island or an African nation that would agree to take them in some sort of prison construction and management deal that would give both the Aussies and the US a place to send prisoner of war types and refugees at a lower cost than importing them to their own soil. Perhaps a Muslim-majority Northern African nation would be ideal for this.
