Trump would like to open a line of dialogue with Putin in person. He thinks it would be good for the U.S. to at least be able to communicate with Russia reasonably despite our differences.
For this reason he does not want to trash talk Putin before meeting him.
This does not mean he is his lap dog. It simply means Trump does not want to taint the atmosphere before they meet. That is an intelligent plan.
The MSM and even some misguided FReepers are dead set at trashing Trump until he goes for Putin’s throat.
They want to goad him into attacking Putin.
A new Cold War hangs in the balance and Trump knows it.
He is doing the exact right thing.
We all know the threat Putin represents. It’s still better to have an open line of communication between these two men.
