I just checked my television to make sure the game will show well, it is a 70 inch sharp you folks helped me choose a while back.

I just discovered that I need some sort of cable digital box in order to watch Fox in digital.

I cannot get a cable box, TW is closed.

I found this place and it seems as though I can stream it into the TV but I cannot tell whether it is digital.

any help would be terrific. Or ideas.

Bumping for good luck. Hope you get the help you need. Maybe have such great food that even the test pattern will be exciting to watch for three hours? ;)

Try unplugging EVERYTHING completely for a minute or two and then plug it back in. A reset like that is always the first thing to try.

I had a similar issue last night with Dish Network. Reset worked like a charm. If that doesn’t help, call TW.

Good luck.

The 40/60 mile antennas pick up all kinds of stuff and in HD.

You could also call up and do a “RESET” of your cable box.

G/l.

Don’t worry about it. The Super Bowl is nothing more than another political event anyway. Watch something worthwhile.

Do you have a local FOX station that's carrying the game? Find that out and if so ...
... switch your TV's input source from Cable to Antenna and then switch channels to the FOX station.

We were able to get the Fox.go through Roku. If you buy a digital antannae, buy the more powerful one.

Half time show lasts how long?

Folks should shut their sets off, bark for refreshments then turn them back on when the game resumes.

Don’t worry about the digitalness, analog is dead, the only way your TV is showing anything analog is if you’re watching a VHS. As for the box unless you’re in a Fox broadcast deadzone you don’t need a box, you probably need an antenna.

Why is watching Lady Gaga bash our president in HD so important?
Have you checked your TV’s resolution settings? If you can’t get HD, I would play with the TV’s settings to maximize picture.

Well, where do you live? If you are within 20 miles of a Fox station transmitter, you should be able to pull in a perfect HD picture with even an indoor TV antenna. Otherwise, if you are up to 50 miles away, you’d need a bigger antenna.

I assume you are just getting your cable signal from the wall outlet, in which case you may only be able to get standard definition. But most cable companies allow you to get the broadcast channels in HD, without a digital box. If they have scrambled all the HD channels, you will have to go pick up an antenna and pick up Fox over the air.

TexasGator is right. Fox over the air (antenna)is at least 720p and probably 1080i or 1080p. I cut the cable years ago and sports programs over the air are much sharper than cable.

I don't know where you live but you can use this link to see what stations are likely available to you and in what direction. AntennaWeb.org

You should be able to find a good antenna that will fit in the attic or some temporary location outside for between $20-$40. Maybe more if you go to WalMart, BestBuy, Target, etc. Bottom line... if you are in range, it works really great.

FoxSportGo can run through your browser, but you still need to have a subscription service (cable/satellite) provider.

It might let you view without having to sign in, however, since it is advertising the game for free.

Push and hold in the power button until you see “boot” on the cable box, then release button. Box will reset itself and you don’t have to talk to idiots at twc.

un....all “over the air” TV is mandated to be digital since 2009.

HD is a different story. Fox & Fox sports do broadcast in HD
http://hd-report.com/hd-channels/

So how did you discover you needed a cable digital box ?

arg...I see it now. you have Time Warner and yes you would need a cable box.

The game is offered over the air.

You can get a TV antenna ( old rabbit ears type) that will pull in FREE(over the air) TV. You should be able to set your TV to “TV” and scan for all the free stations that will reach you. You should be able to get FOX and in HD

Blimark HD antenna works great for us. It’s the size of a placemat, flat, we hooked it up to the TV, change the source to TV instead of cable box, HD quality for one-time charge of about $27.

Good luck!

Go out and grab an antenna, you can watch the game in uncompressed High Definition over the air.
Will probably look better than what cable has to offer.
