A recent border shooting where cartel smugglers fired at U.S. Border Patrol agents points to a disturbing trend as organized crime members appear to be getting more aggressive against law enforcement.
The most recent attack took place on Friday morning near in a rural area not far from Los Indios international bridge. The attack took place when agents assigned to the Harlingen station responded to a vehicle heading towards the river in what appeared to be an attempt to collect a load of contraband. Authorities tried to stop the fleeing vehicle, but it headed back towards the river as the smugglers tried to escape into Mexico. During the escape, unknown men in Mexico began to fire at law enforcement on the U.S. side. No agents were hurt in the shooting.

I don’t know how thick the wall should be or how deep it should go underground, but I’d recommend one at least 80 feet high. The eighth floor is beyond the capabilities of even fire departments to reach from the ground.
we are going to have to destroy the cartels, and then whoever rises to take their place. naturally the wall will be part of this process.
mexico cant do jack to fix any of their internal problems and the entire political system is corrupt.

How do you suppose the Government of the Peoples Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, or even Mexico, would respond to an incident such as this?
Both Obama and GWB would have charged the Border Guards with murder, had one of those trespassers died from a gunshot wound. I’m hoping Donald Trump won’t be that way, at least not without giving the Guard full and proper representation,
not a Gov. flunky under orders to plead ‘guilty to all charges’ right away.
Whoever builds that wall is going to require constant armed guards and someone will have to be checking daily for booby traps
I checked acronyms and found this one to be the one I favored. There are pretty good examples of this for paintballs. The gov't could easily afford .308 versions.
