Pentagon Strikes New F-35 Deal With Lockheed After Trump Involvement

The Pentagon announced the deal would bring the cost per jet for the F-35A below $100 million for the first time -- to $95 million, marking a 7.3 percent drop in price from the last order.

Officials estimated, based on the per-plane price of the most recent F-35 order, the new agreement represents a $728 million reduction.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer declared it “another big win that the president has delivered on for U.S. taxpayers.”

The deal would have happened without Trump, but he gets the credit. Cost always come down as production efficiencies are realized, and this is in line with previously forecast expectations.

Still - good to get out in front of good news!

WOW...$728 million here and some more multi-millions saved for the taxpayer soon mounts up to some serious money.

The stretch and wishful thinking is expecting that a U.S. corporation would willingly take less from the government for what they are selling.

The list of software bugs made it seem they will not make some important deadlines mid july??? this thing looks like a streaming pile we have spent 400 billion on this so far I believe.

Saving money is great, but after everything we've already dumped into this project is had better be the best aircraft in the world.

And I think we know where that stands. Might have been better to Rebuild everything for the F-22 and come up with a cheaper ground attack aircraft.

Trump knows the value of a dollar - something that our “representatives” don’t worry about since it hasn’t been their own money being thrown away.
