With those salaries there was something else going on here aside from the obvious. I find it interesting they only worked for Democrats.

Yeah, no lie. I worked for the gov’t for 36 years and my base pay was nowhere near that much. That’s off the GS payscale.

It could be as simple as a conflict of interest in hiring, i.e., corruption on the part of the hiring manager, with a kickback via a deliberately inflated salary.
This is common in the third world.
I recall a similar case or two from the San Francisco school districypt.
