Once in my life I got within about 50 yards of a couple of Aboriginies in a small town in the Australian Outback. With that experience I look at her photo and wonder of she might have some "native" blood. She doesn't look entirely "European"...she looks like she might have a little of the Pacific Islands in her.
So maybe she's speaking from some personal experience. But saying what she said *while* serving in the military is way over the top IMO.
We had an airman at Woomera who decided to befriended a group of Abos in a Port Augusta bar. He told them how sorry he was for their plight, losing their country, and all the respectful things he thought he should say.
After being with him for most of the afternoon, when he got drunk enough, they beat the living daylights out of him and rolled him in the toilet.
His injuries were so bad, he had to be medevac’d back to a hospital in Hawaii.
When he came back to complete his tour after two months, we were like, “Dude, would you go into Watts or Southside and do the same with the brothas?”
