Matthew McConaugheys True Detective character, Rust, describes himself as a realist and McConaughey is calling for the same approach to President Donald Trump.
During an interview on BBC One, Andrew Marr asked about whether its time for Hollywood or cultural elite to give Trump a break. McConaughey, the star of Gold, departed from the oppositional views many other actors or celebrities have taken to Trump.
Well, they dont have a choice now, McConaughey told Marr. Hes our president. And its very dynamic and as divisive of an inauguration and time as weve had. At the same time, its time for us to embrace and shake hands with this fact and be constructive with him over the next four years.

let me be the first
‘alright, alright,alright’
Dang! I wanted to say that!
Prepare to be attacked.
Big deal. So what movie was he promoting. Please spare me.
He did that anti-Trump video with the hollywood types. Now this? He has a new movie coming out.
Good for him!
Good answer, Mr. Lincoln spokesperson, Ford could learn from you.
Wasn’t he in the latest Celebrity YouTube Video dissing Trump?
Maybe he isn’t a total “failure to launch”...
There is no telling how much can be accomplished if you don’t care who takes credit. Some things are much bigger than one person or one small group, and these things take on a life of their own.

Matthew should have financial backing to continue his career.
There are two forces that drive Hollywood projects, capital and labor.
If you have money, you can produce films via independent venues or via studio resources. Studio resources entail union labor. One can be more attractive than the other depending on the project.
Investment in film projects is highly risky, always so. Conservatives usually don’t invest because they are careful with capital. When they do invest, it usually because the project is near and dear to their heart and the investment is shared by like-minded conservatives. But the incidence of such investment by such individuals is small compared to liberal investment.
Liberals invest in projects often because like other media they seek to control that form of media so as to control the narrative to program the popular culture. Conservatives do s well but the sources of the funds are different. Liberals have more benefactors willing to throw money away because these wealthy benefactors feel that liberalism is something that allows them to have superior access to Capital.
First, Morgan Freeman. Now, this?
Milquetoast.
Better than nothing, but milquetoast and all kumbiya sounding crap.
This is short of street war and this is the best Matt can do and keep working, I guess.
You need to see True Detective (Season 1 only!!!)
I expect McConaughey to clarify his statement in short order.
